Power up Reset problem on net5501

A small number of the boards from the first couple of batches have soldering problems on one capacitor due to mismatch between the capacitor size and pad size, resulting in permanent or periodic power up reset problem.

If you have a board where all the LED's stay on and nothing else happens, then after applying power, short the two pins on JP9 (next to the mounting hole at the CF socket) momentarily. If the board then starts running normally, it most likely will be the issue. It can be solved by resoldering the specific part.

You can either:

1) Return the board to either Soekris Engineering in USA or Soekris Europe in Denmark and have the board updated under our normal warranty terms. If you do so, remember to include your return address and let us know it's about that issue. We will make every effort to do it as fast as practically possible.

2) If you have soldering experience and feel confident that you can do it yourself, resolder the pads on the capacitor marked with a red line on the picture below, adding a little solder as needed. Our normal warranty will not be voided, even if something minor goes wrong.
